Candy Cane

Candy Cane, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

Almost through the holiday backlog. Things look great when you use a beautifully decorated Christmas tree as your background. The Canon 50mm 1.8II lens definitely gives the bokeh a pentagon shape, rather than the more rounded shape I get from the 100mm, and it is pretty evident in this picture. You can compare to the 100mm here.

That's the other advantage of the 50mm f1.4; 8 blades over 5. In the end, not a huge deal. http://photo.net/equipment/canon/ef50/

Yeah. I might consider it if I feel like shelling out for the faster lens, but I don't think it will be for a while. I can see doing that if I ever need to replace the 50mm mark II.
