Subterranean Homesick Alien

Subterranean Homesick Alien, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

"I'd tell all my friends
But they'd never believe
They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely

I'd show them the stars
And the meaning of life
They'd shut me away
But I'd be all right
All right..."

I thought this was an interesting bit of graffiti in the abandoned subway.

Arches on Court

Arches on Court, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

I love the texture of Court St. bridge. A fantastic thing to take a look at if you just adjust your perspective a bit.

I certainly like it here with the black background.

Service Bridge

Service Bridge, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

I am not sure how I feel about this image at all. Too dark, just kind of bland. Mostly posting just because I thought the area with the rickety bridge over the water draining out to the river under the arches was interesting.

The photo itself is a bit flat.

Shadows

Shadows, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

The first time I looked at this shot, I passed right over it for being too dark. Going back through, I like the mood it conveys. I also like the bright sun coming in from the background, highlighting the graffiti on the outside wall.

I still would have liked a fill flash to help the columns in front show up a little better, but I'm not sure if that would have helped or hurt the shot.

Rusty Pipe

Rusty Pipe, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

The image is a bit overexposed, since I forgot to adjust settings after shooting in the dark. I like the texture of the peeling paint though.

Straight Ahead

Straight Ahead, originally uploaded by Snowbug1115.

This is the first time I have done any photography with "painting" light. We had a big handheld light with us, and basically everything that looks like sunlight is from that lamp, with the exception of the "HYPE" column and the first four feet or so, which is natural light.

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.
